چکیده
Most of the dyes are carcinogenic and mutagenic in nature. Plants potential candidates to remediate textile dye wastewater from contaminated sites. The present study aimed design an efficient hydroponic system screen ornamental plant species for removal synthetic solution triarylmethane Methylene Blue (MB) diazo Congo Red (CR). plants selected screening Trachyspermum ammi, Tagetes erecta, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, Chrysanthemum indicum, Bryophyllum fedtschenkoi, Catharanthus roseus. phytotreatment was done up 40 h two different concentrations dyes, i.e., 10 20 mg L?1. Among screened species, maximum decolorization obtained T. ammi followed by B. fedtschenkoi. Both showed active growth indigenous designed even after phytoremediation process. decolorized MB 99 % (10 L?1) 86 (20 while CR 95 84 L?1). found have among can be used with dyes.

Phytoremediation of Textile Waste Water Using Potential Wetland Plant: Eco Sustainable Approach
One of the major problems encountered in the textile industry is the production of large volumes of highly coloured wastewater. The textile industries daily discharge million litres of untreated effluents in the form of wastewater into public drains that eventually empty into rivers. They cause serious health hazard. Textile wastewater also contains substantial pollution loads which increase th...
متن کاملPhytoremediation in education: textile dye teaching experiments.
Phytoremediation, the use of plants to clean up contaminated soil and water, has a wide range of applications and advantages, and can be extended to scientific education. Phytoremediation of textile dyes can be used as a scientific experiment or demonstration in teaching laboratories of middle school, high school and college students. In the experiments that we developed, students were involved...
متن کاملPlant screening of halophyte species for cadmium phytoremediation.
Chloride (Cl-) has been related to increased phytoavailability of cadmium (Cd) in soil. A glasshouse experiment using a historically contaminated soil was undertaken to evaluate the effect of chloride on Cd uptake by salt-tolerant plants and possibly quantify the uptake of discrete Cd species (e.g. Cd2+, CdCl+, CdCl(0)2). Chloride treatments were applied as 100 mM NaCl and compared with equival...
متن کاملWaste Tendu Leaves From Beedi Industry Utilized For Removal of Sulphur Dye From Textile Waste Water
An activated carbon as adsorbent is derived from waste tendu leaves (Diospyros melanoxylon) from local Beedi (Cigarette) industry for removal of sulphur dye from textile waste water. Tendue leaves were chemically treated with sulphuric acid and activated carbon prepared was analyzed by pH, moisture content, ash content, bulk density and BET surface area. The adsorption studies were performed as...
متن کاملBiological Treatment of a Synthetic Dye Water and an Industrial Textile Wastewater Containing Azo Dye Compounds
In this research, the ability of anaerobic and aerobic biological sludges to reduce and stabilize azo dye compounds was studied. Synthetic dye solutions and an industrial textile wastewater were both treated using anaerobic and aerobic biomass, separately and in sequential step-treatment processes. The primary objective was to reduce the wastewater color to an intensity that complies with the V...
